Very plain and unimportant. I shave my head and have no tattoos or body art, and dress in practical style. I try to be understated intentionally.
Complex. Perhaps droll. Rather "British", which is unusual for an American, but I am of English descent, so it must be genetic, somehow?
I like anything new, but my old "stand by" hobbies are cooking (vegan) and pickling vegetables and making pickles and ferments, growing plants, aquarium keeping, exotic pets.
I have been everywhere I really wanted to go - all over Europe, most of Asia. I haven't been to Iceland or Ireland yet. Or Ethiopia. I like Thailand, best place I've found, and I've looked everywhere.
I don't have a "culture", so much as a "mentality". I was surprised as how closely I think like Chinese, most Westerners find China baffling and strange, I found it oddly "familiar", in how Chinese view the world. Of all the world's people, I relate to Chinese most closely.
I reject the Western "romantic" notion for the most part, because it's a bit superficial and pretentious. I don't have inhibitions, so I look at things as they are, "vipassana". But a spa weekend - private sauna, scents and good food (vegan for me), and the like, make for a delightful sensual experience, in good measure and moderation.
Introspective. Analytical. There are 2 types of Western Buddhists. People who find the usual religions to be not weird enough. And people like me, who find Buddhism non-weird and rational. I try to be self-aware.
In a word, "focused". Who knows what she wants, and expects, in life, and is realistic and not dreamy or emotionalistic. I'm a radical traditionalist. A modern man who looks to history and science for constructive and natural human behavioral patterns and social norms. A person who at the least respects insightful and analytical understanding, and values stability and "measured ambition".
