I am an intelligent, curious, generous, and values-oriented man who loves to explore all realms internal and external. I am kind and respectful, open-minded and open-hearted, compassionate, quick to smile, and love a good laugh. People -- adults and children alike -- enjoy my company and animals love me. I am, perhaps, the most fit 61 year-old gentleman you have met. Daily yoga and exercise -- hiking and/or cycling -- and sensible eating keep my body well-tuned. Staying active, especially in nature, is very important to me. I especially love backpacking and camping in the mountains. Spending time on the beach is also very enjoyable. I keep my mind sharp in a number of ways, including reading an hour+ each day and completing the NY Times crossword puzzles. I am also teaching myself Spanish. Making new friends and staying connected to those I treasure enhances my emotional health. I enjoy people, and I am also my best friend. Consequently, I am comfortable in a large group, am intimate gathering of friends, and by myself. As for my spiritual life ... I am a very spiritual person, but not religious. I was raised Roman Catholic, but years ago I chose a different spiritual path. My spiritual journey is very important to me. My soul is nourished through meditation, listening to music, writing poetry, practicing random acts of kindness, and living a simple and full life. In November I sold my house in Seattle. My wonderful children are grown and walking their own paths responsibly. Since I have no obligations, I am traveling the world. I am currently in New Zealand and will stay in the South Pacific/Southeast Asia region for at least 3 more months. I haven't made specific plans to visit the Philippines -- but if I meet the right person on this site, I will visit her.

Ok… so let’s start: I’d like first to apologize for the typos I might have… I must confess I’m American (I know… nobody’s perfect) and I’m pretty much new in this country I thought I would throw some keywords that would describe what I like to do. If you recognize yourself in some of them, I think it might be worth taking the time to keep on reading my profile. If you don’t keep on reading, I swear I won’t be upset with you. I will never know anyway :-) Travel, surprises, music, dancing, sports, books, last minute plans, open mind, photography, museum, craziness, spontaneity, going out (but also staying in), sharing, simplicity, respect, flip flops (yes, the sandals), down to earth (however fantasy is also very important), people, casual, word, news, work, sense of humor about yourself, awareness. And yet another short list of things that I’m not really fond of: – Self-centered people (but, hey… Have you already heard anybody saying “yes, yes, I am definitely self-centered.” So this one doesn’t really count!!) – Superficial people In addition, if you happen to pronounce the following sentences regularly, we’re definitely increasing the chance of a good match here: “Ok let’s give it a try” “To be honest, I don’t know” “I respect that” “J’adore les escargots” ok this one doesn’t really count either… :-) And last (I promise), if you think that Paris is the most beautiful city in the world, I think you should tell our parents to get ready for the wedding :-) I am crazy, stupid, and charming.

I was a legislative assistant and policy advisor to a senior Democratic U.S. Senator in Washington, D.C. Of the thousands of interesting people I met in Washington, President Clinton and The Dalai Lama stand out. Feeling The Dalai Lama's overwhelming humility and powerful tangible transmission of total acceptance, deep unconditional love, joy, and deep peace from 30 yards away was an important unexpected catalyst that touched me deeply, reminding me that there are dimensions of reality and deeper potentials beyond the world of the terribly obvious just waiting to be explored and developed. Now I'm a spiritual post-professional who's outgrown conventional careers and external incentives in favor of authentic meaningful work, right livelihood, and a lifestyle of creative contribution and voluntary simplicity made possible by free agency. The freedom and responsibility to create your own destiny into an open future as a self-employed free agent is awesome. I believe in the power to actualize dreams and to create preferred futures because I’ve done it and I help others do it. INTP, Enneagram 5, and integral/turquoise stage of development symbolized by the centaur which represents body/mind/soul integration, I'd like to meet a fellow centaur, hiking/running partner, yoga buddy, best friend, and lover to share this mysterious journey of life, someone open to exploring the idea that we are ultimately the all-powerful creators of all that we experience, and that realizing this helps us create in a more conscious manner.
